Do I qualify for a free NHS eye test?

Many of our patients are eligible for an eye test funded by the NHS. In the UK, you qualify for a free routine sight test if you fall into any of the following categories:

Age: You are aged 60 or over, or under 16.

Education: You are aged 16, 17, or 18 and in full-time education.

Medical Conditions: You have been diagnosed with Diabetes or Glaucoma.

Family History: You are aged 40 or over and have a close relative (parent, sibling, or child) with Glaucoma.

Visual Impairment: You are registered as severely sight impaired (blind) or sight impaired (partially sighted).

Income Support: You receive Universal Credit (meeting specific criteria), Income Support, or Pension Credit Guarantee Credit.

Certificates: You hold a valid NHS tax credit exemption certificate or an HC2/HC3 certificate.
